Typically worn during guest arrivals, evening service, and passerelle watch, they symbolize respect and professionalism. While not commonly worn during daytime activities, epaulettes are also seen at boat shows or when welcoming officials or marine pilots. Guests can use them as a subtle way to identify crew members’ roles, even if few are familiar with all the ranks.
